Which hose fits Schedule 40 fittings and which fits insert barbs?
Flex pipe (S series) is Schedule 40 sized and solvent welds into Schedule 40 socket fittings using a cement made for flexible PVC. The corrugated P series is plumbing-size hose for insert-barb fittings with a solid band clamp — not spring or wire clamps. The two are not interchangeable: a 1-1/2" barb (about 1.65" OD) will not enter 1-1/2" flex pipe (about 1.63" ID).
